January 31, 2000 ary E. McLaughlin, of Ridge Street, Freeland, died Monday at
Hazleton General Hospital. Born in Upper Lehigh, she was a daughter of the
late Walter and Martha (Davis) Heckler. She was a member of St. Luke’s
Evangelical Lutheran Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5010, Freeland.
She was a Freeland Committee woman in the Sixth Ward for many years. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Joseph. Surviving are her sons, John
“Muggsy,” Lattimer; Richard, Cresco; David, Pocono Farms; and Joseph, at
home; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Potoski,
Freeland; and Lorraine Kauffman, Gordon; nieces and nephews. Funeral services
will be at 11 a.m. today from the Cotterall-Petrilli Funeral Home, Freeland.
The Rev. Wayne Kaufman and the Rev. Michele Kaufman will officiate. Burial
will be in Calvary Cemetery, Drums, Butler Township. Friends may call from 6
to 9 this evening. Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke Pavilion, Stacie
Manor, Hazleton.
