Would you like to see more news from Ashley, Sugar Notch and Warrior Run?
If so, now’s your chance to tell everyone about what’s going on in your
neighborhood.
I’m 23 and a lifelong resident of the Wyoming Valley. I’m the new weekly
correspondent from the Ashley-Sugar Notch-Warrior Run area.
I need your input. If you have any information, news, meeting notices,
birthdays or anniversaries and fund-raising events for your social or church
organization, let me know and I’ll help.

Free-throw contest
St. Leo the Great Knights of Columbus Council 12089, Ashley, will hosta
council-level free throw competition for boys and girls ages 10 to 14 on
Sunday at the Hanover Area Jr.-Sr. High School on the Sans Souci Parkway,
Hanover Township.
Registration is at 12:30 and competition begins at 1:30.
The championship is sponsored annually with winners progressing from the
council level to the district level to state and international championships.
Boys and girls ages 10 to 14 (as of Jan. 1) are eligible and will compete
in age4 divisions.

829-5583. /// Snow no-nos Ashley Borough Mayor Richard Oravic reminds borough
residents that it is illegal to throw snow from the sidewalks onto the roadway
during or after a snowstorm. Oravic will have borough police check the borough
streets. First-time offenders will be given a warning. After the first time,
the person or persons responsible will receive a citation, according to
borough ordinance. Also the owner, tenant or occupant of any lot or land or
real estate in the borough is required to clear the sidewalks with 12 hours
after the cessation of any storm or snowfall. /// Church news St. Leo’s
Church, Ashley, will conduct First Friday visits tomorrow. If you are
homebound, or, if you know of a parishioner who is confined and would like to
be visited on First Firdays, call the rectory at 825-6669. The St. Leo’s
Cyrenians will hold their annual Night at the Races on Feb. 26 in the church
hall. Horses are on sale for $10 each. Admission is $3.
