Snow covers a religious statue outside the J. Carroll McCormick Chapel on
the King’s College campus. King’s College employee Joe Hill, with the snow
blower, followed by Dan Sobocinski, clear the sidewalks on Jackson Street
Monday. Jamie Sebolka clears his sidewalk the old-fashioned way: with a
shovel. These Wilkes-Barre children are the queen and kings of their castle,
an igloo they built on Moyallen Street. From left are: Jessica Brodowicz, Dan
Good and Tom Dunbar. Closed for the season: This boat on Farley Street in
Wilkes-Barre will have to wait for warmer weather. Sunday’s snow covers the
rooftops on the buildings in the Heights section of Wilkes-Barre. Cold hearts:

look. Snow collects on the letters of a downtown business.Snowy
days and Mondays Call it a gift from the skies. A super ending to a super
weekend. An annoying way to start the week. Or, a great way to end the
weekend. For most school-aged students, the snowstorm that began Sunday
afternoon as football enthusiasts were readying for a night of Super Bowl fun,
offered a chance to play in the snow. For residents who were greeted with
snow-covered walkways, roads and cars, it meant a little extra work on Monday
morning. Schools were closed throughout the city and surrounding towns,
allowing children to pull out the sleds, build snowmen and engage in snowball
fights.
