February 3, 2000 Ann J. Tirpak, of Market Street, Glen Lyon, died Thursday at
Mercy Health Care Center, Sheatown, Newport Township. Born Jan. 21, 1916, in
Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Wargo) Lazas and a
1933 graduate of Harrisburg High School. A resident of Glen Lyon most of her
life, she moved back from the Washington, D.C., area in 1948. She was an
inspector for Eagle Manufacturing, Glen Lyon, until her retirement. She was a
member of St. Denis Church, Glen Lyon, and the parish Altar & Rosary Society.
Surviving are her husband, Norbert M., with whom she celebrated their 62nd
wedding anniversary Jan. 3; son, Stephen T., Reston, VA.; brother, Donald
Lazas, Silver Spring, Md.; and sister, Mary Dungey, Beltsville, Md. She was
preceded in death by her son, Michael; infant daughter, Susan; sister,
Elizabeth Terrell; and brother, John Lazas. Funeral services will be at 11
a.m. Monday from the George A. Strish, Inc., Funeral Home, Glen Lyon, with a
Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. Denis Church. The Rev. Adrian
Tirpak will officiate. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery,
Glen Lyon. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Members of the
Tri-Parish Altar & Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 3 p.m. Sunday.
