February 2, 2000 Charles K. Broody III, 34, of Corby Road, Courtdale, died
Wednesday at his home. Born in Courtdale, he was the son of Charles Broody Jr.
and Theresa (Romanoski) Broody, of Courtdale. He was a 1984 graduate of
Wyoming Valley West High School and resided in Courtdale his entire life. He
owned and operated C. Broody Tire Co., Courtdale. He was a member of St.
Ignatius Church, Kingston. He was a former mayor of Courtdale, the youngest in
Courtdale history. He was a borough councilman at the time of his death. He
was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Stanley and Eleanor
(Woycheck) Romanoski; and his paternal grandparents, Charles Broody Sr. and
Mildred (Sidonies) Broody. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his
wife, the former, Julie Dietterick; brother, Kurt, Edwardsville; sisters,
Kathleen Roccograndi, Bushkill Township; Linda Bond and Christine Hadvance,
both of Edwardsville; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral
services will be at 8:50 a.m. Monday from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc.,
Funeral Home, Forty Fort, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St.
Ignatius Church, Kingston. Interment will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery,
Pringle. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Memorial
donations may be made to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
of Luzerne County, Wilkes-Barre.
