February 2, 2000 oseph A. McHugh Jr., 76, of Calle Edmundo Street, Sun City,
Calif., died Wednesday at his home. Born Jan. 19, 1923, in Wilkes-Barre
Township, he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Mary C. (Strish) McHugh. A
1940 graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School, he attended Wilkes College
and was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps serving in the Pacific Theater
during World War II. He worked for United Chem-Con Co. and retired from
Caldwell Bankers Real Estate Co. as an agent. He was a member of St. Vincent
Ferrar Church, Sun City. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Sharshon.
Surviving are his wife, Julia; son, Joseph, Cherry Valley, Calif.; daughters,
Julie Ann Walton, Margarite, Calif.; and Phyllis Hawley, Kings Park, N.Y.;
Patricia Wallack, Newport Beach, Calif.; Theresa Gray, Costa Mesa, Calif.; 14
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this morning in St. Vincent Ferrar
Church. Interment will be in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif.
Funeral arrangements are by the Aaron Funeral Home, Loma-Linda, Calif.
