February 1, 2000 aul L. Chapman III, 46, of Carey Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, died
Tuesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born April 27, 1953, in Kingston, he
was a son of Paul L. Chapman Jr., of Exeter, and Mary Richards Chapman, of
Wright Township. He resided most of his life in Mountaintop, and was a
graduate of Crestwood High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam
War, serving in the 405th Construction Battalion. He worked locally in the
construction trades and was a musician in local bands. He was preceded in
death by his former wife, Marsha Fink Chapman. Surviving, in addition to his
parents, are his son, Joseph M., New York City; sisters, Cindy Fedor, Hobbie;
and Judith A. Chapman, Philadelphia; brothers, Larry, Wilkes-Barre; and
Martin, Larksville; paternal grandfather, Paul L. Chapman Sr., Mountaintop;
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the
McCune Funeral Home, Mountaintop. The Rev. Mary E. Laufer, of Messiah Lutheran
Church, Wilkes-Barre, will officiate. Interment will be in Albert Cemetery,
Wright Township. Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Memorial
donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen, Wilkes-Barre.
