WILKES-BARRE – Mayor Tom McGroarty has asked that residents move their cars
when police post signs announcing snow removal.

The Department of Public Works plans to take a large-capacity snow blower
to each section of the city to remove snow from curb to curb.
“It only takes 12 to 15 minutes to clear one block of all snow using this
equipment. However, if there are cars parked on the street, that doubles the
time and throws off the day’s schedule.”

McGroarty said half of the city streets will be cleared of snow by
Saturday.
