January 30, 2000 Roy Sordoni Evans, 56, of Heather Highlands Park, Inkerman,
Jenkins Township, died Sunday at his home. Born July 18, 1943, in Lehman
Township, he was a son of the late Marcy and Florence Sordoni Evans. A
Wilkes-Barre resident most of his life, he lived in Inkerman the last two
years. He was educated in the Lehman School District and was employed as a
tree surgeon and truck driver. He attended St. Mark’s Church, Inkerman.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marion Davis, with whom he would have
celebrated 22 years of marriage Feb. 20; son, Roy, and sister, Marion Evans,
with whom he resided; sons, David Evans, Nanticoke; Daniel Evans,
Wilkes-Barre; Donnie Evans, Ashley; William Chupcavich, Glen Lyon; and Ronald
and Brian Chupcavich, both of Old Forge; daughters, Debbie Iorio and Deanna
Williams, both of Wilkes-Barre; and Lori Hubbard, Exeter; 15 grandchildren;
brother, Marcy, Sacramento, Calif.; sisters, Victoria Snyder, San Antonio; and
Freda Miller, Forty Fort; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by his brother, Harry. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today from
the George A. Strish, Inc., Funeral Home, Ashley. The Rev. Edward Masakowski
will officiate. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends
may call from 9 to 10 this morning.
