January 27, 2000 ary Grosky Obranski, 88, formerly of Nuangola Road, Rice
Township, died Jan. 27 in Shawnee, Okla., where she resided for the past year.
Born June 1, 1911, in Newtown, Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the
late Daniel and Cora (Rose) Finley. A 1928 graduate of Hanover High School,
she resided in Mountaintop since 1941. She was a district justice in Rice
Township for 18 years, retiring in 1960. She was a member of American Legion
Post 781 Auxiliary, Mountaintop. She was preceded in death by her first
husband, Peter Grosky; second husband, Charles Obranski; sisters Lydia
Richmond, Catherine Worley and Brougetta Collins; and brothers, Daniel and
William Rose. Surviving are her daughter, Eleanor Grosky Bukewicz, Piney
Point, Md.; sons, Peter, Old Town, Fla.; Robert W., Shawnee, Okla.; four
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11
a.m. Tuesday from the McCune Funeral Home, Mountaintop. The Rev. James H.
Shanley, of Mountaintop Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will be
in Albert Cemetery, Wright Township. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
