February 3, 2000 ettie D. Marcinko, of Old Forge, died Thursday at Hospice of
the VNA at Community Medical Center, Scranton. Born in Old Forge, she was a
daughter of the late Gideon and Emily (Pierce) Hughes. She was educated in Old
Forge schools. She was an operator for the former Topps Chewing Gum, Duryea.
She was a member of the Lawrenceville Primitive Methodist Church of Old Forge
and the parish Ladies Bible Class. Surviving are her husband, Paul, with whom
she celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 26; son, Paul, Chesapeake,
Va.; daughters, Daurice Castelli, Clarks Summit; and Laurie Hannick, Old
Forge; eight grandchildren; brothers, Hughie, Bridgeton, N.J.; and Robert,
Chesapeake, Va.; sister, Emma Abplanalp, Old Forge; and several nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Bernard P.; sister, Betty
Winkler; and brothers, Garfield R. and Arthur. Funeral services will be at 9
a.m. Monday in the Lawrenceville Primitive Methodist Church, Old Forge. The
Rev. Dr. Michael J. Kirwin, of St. Lawrence O’Toole Roman Catholic Church, Old
Forge, will officiate. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Old Forge.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Thomas P. Kearney
Funeral Home, Old Forge. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrenceville
Primitive Methodist Church, Bridge Street, Old Forge.
