No, a natural geyser didn’t form at the Market Street Square complex in
Wilkes-Barre on Friday afternoon. A pipe broke, shooting water high into the
air. Property owner Thom Greco said the recent cold weather, combined with
Friday afternoon’s relatively mild temperatures, caused a capped pipe to
spring a leak. He said the pipe was used to provide water to the sprinkler
system inside the nearby hotel room rail cars, many of which were recently
removed.
