WILKES-BARRE – Wilkes University recorded five pins en route to a 45-6
thumping of the University of Scranton on Saturday in local college wrestling.
   
Scott Henshaw (149 pounds), Josh Cole (157 pounds), Steve Tronambe (174
pounds), Kevin Baker (184 pounds) and Gary Mensinger (197 pounds) registered
falls for the Colonels.
    Wilkes standout John Conte lost his first match of the season after 28
consecutive victories. Conte dropped a 3-2 decision to the Royals’ John Cavey
in the 133-pound match. King’s 21 Elizabethtown 19
   
WILKES-BARRE – David Rohrbach (197 pounds) and Greg Wood (275) won the
final two matches to lead King’s College past Elizabethtown College.
   
The Monarchs will compete in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships
Feb. 18-19 at the University of Scranton. Bloomsburg 45 Millersville 0
   
BLOOMSBURG – Gary Rute (141 pounds), Ed Hockenberry (157), Cassidy Shults
(174), Todd Hockenbroch (197) and Pat Spirelli (275) earned pins as Bloomsburg
routed Millersville.
