February 4, 2000 nn M. (Montz) Schweitzer, of East Third Street, Wind Gap,
died Friday at the Easton Hospital. Born May 19, 1920, in Weatherly, she was
the daughter of the late Robert and Edna (Sarley) Montz. She was a member of
Hope UCC, Wind Gap. Before retiring, she was employed at the Tung-Sol Plant,
Weatherly, and Valerie Fashions, Wind Gap. She also worked at the Allen Candy
Factory, Weatherly. She was preceded in death by her son, Harold R. “Butch”
Schweitzer; brothers, Robert and Carl Montz; sisters, Gertrude Craigle, Hazle
Reimold and Fostina Walters. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Harold C.
Schweitzer; son, Carl “Skip” Schweitzer, Weatherly; daughter, Brenda Purkey,
Bear Creek; brothers, Bill Montz, Wind Gap; Jack Montz, Anaheim, Calif.;
sisters, Emily Fritzinger, Whitehall; Mary Jane Vaughn, Stewartsville, N.J.;
Pat Lake, Zephyr Hills, Fla.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the
Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, Weatherly. Interment will be in Union
Cemetery, Weatherly. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
