February 4, 2000 oseph J. Buziuk, of South Fulton Street, Wilkes-Barre, died
Friday at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre. Born July 1, 1913, in Ashley, he
was the son of the late John and Stella Pohutski Buziuk. He resided in
Wilkes-Barre most of his life and was a 1931 graduate of GAR Memorial High
School, Wilkes-Barre. He was employed at the Stegmaier Brewery, Wilkes-Barre,
in the keg house for 33 years, retiring in 1972. He worked at the YMCA,
Wilkes-Barre, until 1996 and also worked in his father’s grocery store, South
Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, for many years. He was a member of St. Mary’s
Church of the Maternity, Wilkes-Barre. He was preceded in death by his sister,
Helen Casterline. Surviving are his wife, the former Evelyn Costello; son,
Joseph Jr., at home; brothers, Frank, Mechanicsburg; John, Cranford, N.J.;
Edward, Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Wanda Conroy, Falls Church, Va.; Irene Smith,
Levittown; and Rosalie Voda, Morrisville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Monday from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of
Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church of the Maternity.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery, West Wyoming. Friends may call from
2 to 4 p.m. today.
