WILKES-BARRE – Wes Kovach scored 18 points to power Wilkes University past
Moravian College, 79-66, in men’s college basketball on Saturday.
Brad Sechler added 14 points, Roman McLaughlin netted 12 points, Kevin
Walsh chipped in 11 and Chad Fabian tallied 10 for the Colonels.
Chris Hayn had 19 points and David Jordan scored 18 to top Moravian.
Misericordia 78 Neumann 70
ASTON, PA – Willie Chandler recorded 27 points as College Misericordia
downed Neumann College.
Jason Perry and Mark Sakson both contributed 20 points for the Cougars.
Rahim Washington led Neumann with 19 points. Elizabethtown 70 Scranton 69
ELIZABETHTOWN – Bob Porambo scored 19 points as Elizabethtown College edged
the University of Scranton.
Mark Sweet added 15 points for Elizabethtown.
Henry Condron powered Scranton with 22 points, Al Callejas had 18 and Derek
Elphick added 12 points. Bloomsburg 93 Pitt-Johnstown 83
BLOOMSBURG – Jay DeShields had 20 points and Seth Buckwalter and Aaron
Carter each added 17 to lead Bloomsburg University to a victory over
Pitt-Johnstown.
Marc Wessell added 14 for the Huskies.
Josue Nieves led Pitt-Johnstown with 18 points and Brent Gerwert added 15.
Women’s Basketball Scranton 73 Elizabethtown 62
ELIZABETHTOWN – Gillian McGovern scored 19 points to power University of
Scranton to a win over Elizabethtown College.
Kelly Halpin added 15 points, Heather Mohrman had 13 and Shannon Milder
recorded 12 points for the Lady Royals.
Carmen Chiles topped Scranton with 19 points. Wilkes 65 Moravian 57
BETHLEHEM – Katie Watkins scored 19 points as Wilkes University defeated
host Moravian College.
Allison Pukulski and Lauren Elwood added 13 points for the Colonels.
Kelly McLean and Tara Wozniak each scored 16 points for Moravian.

ASTON – Colleen Butcher scored 16 points to lead College Misericordia past
Newmann College.
Sandy Olm and Mary Rowlands added 12 for Misericordia. Bloomsburg 89 Holy

BLOOMSBURG – Karen Butcher scored 20 points to lead Bloomsburg University
past Holy Family College.
Carrie Pugh added 14 points and Jen Butcher chipped in 13 for the Huskies.

GRANTHAM – John Cavey (133 pounds) scored University of Scranton’s lone
points on a pin as the Royals lost to Messiah. Women’s Swimming Scranton 64

HUNTINGDON – Junior Sarah Gazdalski won the 100-yard butterfly and the 100
backstroke as the University of Scranton defeated Juniata College.
Sophomore Erin McNally won the 800 freestyle and the 400 freestyle for the
Lady Royals. Men’s Volleyball King’s at Virginia Tech Tourney
BLACKSBURG, VA – King’s College defeated University of North Carolina
(Charlotte), 25-19, 25-8; and lost to North Carolina State, 21-25, 25-20,
15-13; James Madison University, 18-25, 25-21, 15-11; and Rutgers University
25-23, 27-25 in the Virginia Tech Volleyball Tournament.
Craig Doughty recorded 82 assists, Adam Lewis had 36 kills, Jim Ott
registered 30 digs, Ryan Witkin totaled 20 kills, Brendan Rooney had 19 kills
and Mike Falter added 20 blocks for King’s.
