February 6, 2000 rank G. Mucha, of Swoyersville, died Sunday at his home.
Born in Swoyersville, he was a son of the late John and Mary Mucha. He
attended Swoyersville schools. He worked for the No. 1 Contracting Corp., and
as a miner for the Lehigh Valley Coal Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World
War II. He was a member of Holy Name-St. Mary’s Church, Swoyersville, American
Legion Post 644, Swoyersville, and a past member of the Maltby Fire
Department. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marty, John and Stanley;
and sisters, Josephine Stackus, Victoria Kovaleski and Mamie Ryzinski.
Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Jakubczyk Wachala; stepson,
Eugene Wachala, Rochester, N.Y.; stepdaughter, Diane Frusciante, Swoyersville;
brother, Peter Mucha, Swoyersville; sister, Sophie Bebey, Hamburg, N.Y.; five
grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral
services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Joseph L. Wroblewski Funeral
Home, Forty Fort, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Name-St.
Mary’s Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends
may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial donations may be made
to Northeast Health and Hospice, Pittston.
