February 4, 2000 arry G. Postupack, 74, of McAdoo, died Friday at his office.
Born Jan. 23, 1925, in McAdoo, he was a son of the late Constantine and Helen
(Baronchak) Postupack. He was a 1942 graduate of McAdoo High School and a 1950
graduate of Villanova University, and earned a master’s degree from Columbia
University. He was owner of McAdoo Income Tax, Notary Public and Accounting
Service. He also worked in his family’ business, Postie’s Soft Drinks, McAdoo.
He was a founder and past president of the Anthracite Polka Association. He
was a member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, McAdoo, and its Holy
Name Society and choir, and the Shamokin Deanery Holy Name Societies. He was
an honorary member of the Pennsylvania Sheriffs Association and a lifelong
member of VFW Post 6708, McAdoo. He was preceded in death by his brothers,
Michael, John, Constantine, George, Anthony, Methody, Emil, Jacob and Joseph;
and sisters, Julia and Martha Postupack, and Olga Bittler. Surviving are his
brother, Alex, Tamaqua; sisters, Catherine I. Postupack and Helen Lauricella,
both of Tamaqua; and Marylou Postupack, Hazleton; and several nieces and
nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday with Panchyda at 9:30 a.m. from the
Stanley E. Anilosky & Son Funeral Home, McAdoo. Divine Liturgy with the Office
of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic
Church. Interment will be in SS. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, Weatherly.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today. Parastas services will be
at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Gregory Maslak officiating. Memorial donations may be
made to the Postupack Cemetery Association, c/o Helen P. Lauricella, RD 4 Box
312, Tamaqua, Pa. 18252.
