UST WANTED TO thank Times Leader sports writer Steve Sembrat and the whole
Times Leader staff for their coverage and their help in promoting the recently
concluded Killer Bees Athletic Club awards banquet. They did a fine job. It
allowed us to showcase the best of the best and all their efforts are dearly
appreciated. THIS IS FOR the person who keeps calling in about what John Erzar
wrote about the Bishop Hoban girls basketball team. Will you please realize
what he wrote was complimentary? Go back and read it and don’t be an idiot.
I’M CALLING IN about the box scores for wrestling. I noticed that last week
Hoban had a meet and had to forfeit eight of 13 matches. This week we have GAR
77, Bishop Hoban 0 with Hoban forfeiting six of their matches. Is this a
program similar to their football team? Do they struggle in all their sports?
How come no one is making a big deal about this? I’M A WILKES FAN and I’m
proud and thrilled to see Dave Jannuzzi take the Hoinski award at the Killer
Bees banquet. Also, there was an error printed in Sunday’s paper regarding the
semifinalist Robin Mendygral. Robin was not an honorable-mention All-American,
she was proudly named All-American and justifiably so. She led Wilkes softball
to the MAC title both offensively and defensively. She deserves the right
recognition. EDITOR’S NOTE: Mendygral was a second-team All-American.
