Now that 2000 has arrived appar ently without a glitch, it gives us the
opportunity to reflect on the past century. In 1900 tuberculosis was rampant.
The European politicians were manipulating and positioning themselves into a
situation that would create World War I. Immigration from Europe was a flood
tide of the “masses yearning to be free.” The Industrial Revolution was in
full swing using these new Americans and their young children as laborers.

In America at the dawn of the new millennium our economy was never been
better. Unemployment is below 4 percent; inflation is in check and a tax
refund is on the horizon. We have lived through war, Depression and civil
upheaval and have come through it stronger than ever.
People around the world criticize the United States, but everyone wants to
come here. Let them stay home and apply our American principles in their own
countries. Freedom and the U.S. Constitution should be our main exports. It’s
something to think about.
