January 28, 2000 ay T. Lodsun, 86, of Falls Church, Va., died Jan. 28, in
Falls Church. Born in Southfork, he grew up in Johnstown, and was a 1936
graduate of Penn State University. He taught music and was a band director for
the Exeter Area School System before joining the U.S. Army Band. He was a
member of the U.S. Army Band (Pershing’s Own) at Fort Myer, Va., for 32 years,
retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Music Fraternity. He was preceded in
death by a son, Brian. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, the former Bernice
Sinkevich; sons, Jay C., Vienna, Va.; Dean, Falls Church; and Jeffrey,
Arlington, Va.; daughter, Lisa , Seymour, Wis.; 10 grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Feb. 14 in the Fort Myer Chapel.
Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery. Arrangements are by the
Murphy Falls Church Funeral Home.
