February 6, 2000 ohn F. “Chicko” Ozark Jr., of Lidys’ Road, Dupont, died
Sunday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. Born in
Dupont, he was a son of John Ozark Sr., Dupont, and the late Ruth (Lackenby)
Ozark. He was a veteran of 20 years and served in Vietnam. He was employed by
Penn Hide & Rendering for 21 years, and at the Tobyhanna Army Depot until
retiring. He was a member of the Teamsters Union; Veterans of Foreign Wars
Post 4909, Dupont; and Sacred Heart Church, Dupont. Surviving, in addition to
his father, are his stepmother, Elizabeth; wife, the former Erna “Ann”
Weber, to whom he was married 43 years; sons, Michael, Ashley; and John III,
stationed in Arizona; daughter, Victoria Pradel, Suscon; four grandchildren;
brother, Joseph, Avoca; sisters, Lorraine Major, Dupont; and Ann “Susie”
Perrins, Bradford County; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his
brother, William. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the
Stephen M. Lokuta Funeral Home, Dupont, with a Mass of Christian Burial at
9:30 a.m. Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery,
Dupont. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. The VFW will
conduct military honors Wednesday morning.
