February 6, 2000 ulia A. Makowski, 95, formerly of Park Towers, East Green
Street, Nanticoke, died Sunday at the Cook Willow Personal Care Center,
Plymouth, Conn. Born in Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and
Agnes Makowski. A lifelong Nanticoke resident, she was a member of St.
Stanislaus Church. She was a seamstress for sev~eral dress manufacturers in
the area. Later, she was a dietetic worker for the Nanticoke State General
Hospital until retiring. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances
Levanda and Mary Nieman; and brothers, Edward and Bernard. Surviving ~are
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from the
Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at
11:30 a.m. in Stanislaus Church, celebrated by the Rev. Joseph R. K~akareka.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday.
