A 14-year-old city girl was struck by a car after she darted onto
Wilkes-Barre Boulevard at East Northampton Street at 5:38 p.m. Sunday.
   
Police said the driver fled the scene.
    Witnesses described the car as either a red Ford Escort or Dodge Neon, with
a Pennsylvania license plate. Police said the registration may be BSS-0058.
   
Police said the girl was taken to Community Medical Center in Scranton.
Information on the girl’s condition was not available Sunday night.
