Two area groups will participate in the National Eating Disorders Screening
Program next week.
Anyone who believes they might have an eating disorder is welcome to
participate. Those who attend can hear a talk on eating disorders and speak
one-on-one with a health professional.
The Northeastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society will conduct a screening
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Wilkes University’s student union building.
Joy Armillay, an area nutritionist and eating disorder specialist, will
conduct several screenings, sponsored by Human Services Consultant Management
Inc. of Wyoming: 10 a.m.-noon Monday, Educational Conference Center, Luzerne
County Community College; 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aristotle Group, 1150 Wyoming
Ave., Wyoming; noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, Banks Student Center, College
Misericordia; 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Student Center, King’s College; 11
a.m.-1 p.m. Feb. 17 , Wilkes University Student Union; and noon to 2 p.m. Feb.
