Bishop James C. Timlin of the Diocese of Scranton, is leading a group of 12
people on a weeklong mission to Haiti.

The missionaries left Sunday for the island nation, the poorest country in

Catholics to help the poor during the new millennium.
Timlin’s group will see where local donations of money and supplies are
used to help Haitians and deliver more than $15,000 from parishes, individuals
and businesses in the diocese.

Part of the group will return Friday and the rest on Sunday.

Clergy participants include the Rev. Stephen J. Stavoy, the Rev. Martin M.
Boylan, the Rev. Edward R. Scott, the Rev. Michael B. Harris, the Rev. Michael
J. Kloton, Monsignor John A. Esseff and the Rev. Eugene Kovatch. Lay
participants include Harry and Helen Phillips of Clifford, Linda Kistler of
