February 8, 2000 oretta M. Mackin, 101, formerly of Valley Street, Exeter,
died Tuesday at the home of her niece, Jean McClung, Georgetown, Mass. Born in
Pittston, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Ann (Burke) Reilly. She
lived in Pittston for several years and in Exeter for 76 years before moving
to Massachusetts three years ago. She attended Pittston High School. She was
the oldest member of St. Cecilia’s Church, Exeter, and the parish Altar and
Rosary Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick A.;
daughter, Regina McAndrew; sons, Thomas and William; sister, Elizabeth Reilly;
and brothers, Thomas, William and the Rev. Godfrey Reilly. Surviving are her
sons, John J., Forty Fort; 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, one
great-great-grandchild, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m.
Friday from the Metcalfe & Shaver Funeral Home, Inc., Wyoming, with a Mass of
Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Cecilia’s Church, Exeter. Interment will
be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Memorial donations may be made to St. Cecilia’s Church
Memorial Fund.
