Kanisha is a granddaughter of Robert and Linda VanGorder, Loyalville; Barbara and Carl Straley, Dallas; and Robert and Lynn Cheshire, Statesville, North Carolina. She is a great-granddaughter of the late Charles Schade and the late Charlotte Calkins. Kanisha has a sister, Annalise, 15.
