KINGSTON — Two new dentists recently started practicing in Kingston, but the practice they’ve joined is anything but new.

Nataupsky Family Dentistry, located on Pierce Street in Kingston, has been serving the Greater Wyoming Valley for three generations and more than 75 years.

The practice puts an emphasis on patient care, advanced technology and the community, so it’s no surprise that two area natives have decided to practice there.

The goal is to “provide excellent care in a comforting, welcoming environment,” said Dr. Brittany Lahoda, a 33-year-old graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

She and 27-year-old Christa Musto are new additions to the Nataupsky staff and already feel right at home.

“I want to treat every patient like they’re my mother,” said Musto on a recent weekday, as she discussed her goals for practicing in the area in which she grew up.

The future of local dentistry is upon us.

Meet the dentists

• Dr. Christa Ann Musto was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania. She calls Forty Fort her home and attended Scranton Preparatory School, class of 2012, where her love for science and all things nerdy started.

Musto attended the University of Scranton where she nurtured her love for science with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, cell, and molecular biology.

She also nurtured her second love, classical dead languages that no one speaks anymore, with an Ancient Greek Language minor. She’s a little nerdy, but her personality more than makes up for it.

After completing her college career in 2016, Musto transplanted to the Steel City, attending the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. It was there Musto met the four loves of her life: her husband, Sam; her two cats, Tofflemire & Carabelli; and her doctorate of dental medicine degree.

Upon graduation, Musto was ecstatic to return to her roots (bringing her loves with her) in Kingston with Drs. Gary and Jason Nataupsky. She lives by the motto “treat every patient the way you’d treat your mother,” as referenced above.

When not drilling teeth, Musto can be found reading Stephen King, spending time with her husband and cats, and doing jigsaw puzzles (1,000 piece and above only). Her hobbies include playing Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin on the piano, trying new foods, and eating McDonald’s French fries.

• Dr. Brittany Lahoda graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from St. Joseph’s University, where she studied Biology and Business Administration. Dr. Lahoda earned her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and then completed a one year General Practice Residency in Restorative Dentistry at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health in Lancaster.

Lahoda enjoys all aspects of gentle patient centered care with a focus on cosmetic and functional restorative dentistry. She believes in fostering self esteem through building beautiful smiles for both adults and children. Lahoda enjoys staying up-to-date on the most current technological advances in general dentistry.

As a graduate of Wyoming Seminary Upper School, she is excited to be serving patients of Kingston and the surrounding Northeastern Pennsylvania area.

Lahoda loves design, restoring furniture, painting and drawing, baking and cooking and spending time with her husband, family and friends.
