The Career Fair, held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will feature 48 area employers, including first-time vendors such as Pennsylvania State Civil Service Commission, Express Employment Professionals, Peking Chef, VERITAS, Met Life, Hildebrandt Learning Center, WNS Global Services, St. Luke’s Hospital, LA-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, Keystone Real Estate Group, the Apartment Store, Greiner Packaging, UGI Utilities and Action Lift.
Pedro Gratacós, recruitment specialist with the Pennsylvania State Civil Service Commission, said team members will be on hand to discuss state job opportunities and how to register for the Civil Service test.
The career fair provides a great opportunity to network with employers, event organizer Caitlin Akins said.
“Job seekers should come prepared to speak with local recruiters and gather information about positions,” Akins said.
Preparing for the career fair can increase chances of success.
To help job hunters make the most of the fair, CareerLink in Wilkes-Barre is offering a free workshop from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday titled, “How to Turn a Job Fair into a Career.” To register, call 570-822-1101.
