HAZLETON — The Penn State University’s Commission for Women, achieving Woman Award, in the Technical Services division was given to Tracy Millbyer, a seven-year employee of Higher Grounds Cafe.

On April 2, Millbyer received the award during a luncheon at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.

The annual award is given to employees who support the university’s diversity commitment through leadership efforts that exceed their job requirements.

Millbyer of McAdoo is the only technical full-time employee of the cafe. She trains student employees in all areas of the coffee shop.

“As an employee in our Higher Grounds Coffee Shop, Tracy goes above and beyond each day to provide exceptional service to our campus community and visitors,” Jonathan Kukta, director of housing and food services at Penn State Hazleton said in a written press release.
