The Laflin Library sponsors a commonwealth speaker each year to increase the cultural level of the community and reiterate that the library is the center of learning. This year the speaker is Thomas Jolin who will produce a program of Civil War era music. He will present at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27, at St. Maria Goretti Banquet Hall, Laflin. Instruments used will be hammered dulcimer, button accordion, harmonica and banjo.Children in the audience will be included in his presentation.
