Students at Jenny Lynn Elementary in Kingston welcomed a special visitor to their school, Mr. Ed Szafran from the Health and Human Services/National Disaster Medical System. The students learned about disaster relief and the special people who dedicate their time to helping others. Mr. Szafran shared his firsthand experiences with interesting photos and showed students important survival gear. The students at Jenny Lynn participate in various projects throughout the school year to help people in need. The experiences of Mr. Szafran, who recently spent time helping in both Texas and Puerto Rico, gave the children an authentic account of the importance of the HHS/NDMS and helping others.
