Anyone wishing to join the center for a meal at noon, for a suggested donation of $2 for those 60 and over or $5.07 for anyone under 60, should RSVP to Twila (570-388-2623) by 12:30 p.m. the day before. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is located on state Route 92 in Exeter Township. Membership dues and card updates are due for 2018.

LUZERNE COUNTY — The Apprise Program, sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging, is seeking volunteers to train in assisting area elders.

Volunteer counselors participate in an extensive training program and can assist with presentations at various organizations and health fairs and a variety of other tasks.

LUZERNE/WYOMING COUNTIES — Volunteer Senior Peer Counselors are available to provide one-to-one support and socialization in the homes of those 60 years of age and older experiencing loneliness or minor emotional issues.

Volunteers, 55 and older, who drive and can devote up to three hours a week are needed to visit older adults with mild emotional issues in Luzerne and Wyoming counties.

MOUNTAIN TOP — Mountain Top Social Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Feb. 13 and 27 and every second and fourth Tuesday of each month at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Route 309, Mountain Top. Trips to the Hollywood Casino will start on March 22 and will continue every fourth Thursday of each month through November. The cost is $25 per person. The price includes a $30 rebate to play and a $5 buffet voucher. The bus leaves Mountain Top at 8:15 a.m. and St. Als at 8:45 a.m. The first bus trip to Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster will take place on April 17. After the show, “Jesus,” the group will have lunch at Hershey Farm Restaurant. $122 per person. WILKES-BARRE — The St. Robert Bellarmine Seniors will meet on Feb. 14. Trips have been announced to the Hollywood Casino on the fourth Thursday of each month and to the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaseter on April 17. Anyone interested in the trips should call Otto Eime at 570-407-0056.

WYOMING/WEST WYOMING — The Wyoming/West Wyoming Senior Citizens will hold their first meeting of the year on Feb. 6 at St. Monica Parish Hall.
