The Howard University Gospel Choir from Washington, D.C., will perform at the F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre at 7 p.m. Feb. 17 with half of each $10 ticket to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen, Wilkes-Barre. The kitchen is a program of Catholic Social Services of the Diocese of Scranton. Planning the event are Michael Cianciotta, St. Vincent Kitchen program manager; Will Beekman, executive director of the F.M. Kirby Center; and Mary Theresa Vautrinot, Diocesan Secretary for Catholic Human Services. The soup kitchen serves 300 free hot meals daily to those who need them.
