Local pastor visits State Senate to serve as guest chaplain

-

Pastor Brian Korner, of the Grace Independent Baptist Church in Slocum Township, recently served as Senate chaplain as the guest of Sen. Lisa Baker, R-20. Korner, who has served as pastor at the Wapwallopen church since 2006, offers spiritual guidance at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility and is the chaplain for Wilkes Barre Township Police Department. Baker introduced Korner noting that his wife Stacey, whom he met while studying at Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana, their three children, and several parishioners were in the Senate gallery observing session. The Korners reside in Dorrance Township. Shown are Baker and the Korners with their three children, Khloe, Brian and Caitlyn. Also making the trip to Harrisburg with the pastor were members of his congregation and homeschool group: Kristi Kronk, her two children Jordan and Kaitlyn, and Ronald Naugle.
