ASHLEY — Centenary United Methodist Church, 24 N. Main St., Ashley, is offering Saturday evening weekly church service. DALLAS — Trinity Presbyterian Church, 105 Irem Road, Dallas, will hold its annual Rummage Sale June 1 and 2 in the Fellowship Hall at the rear of the church. Sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 1 and 9 a.m. to noon June 2, which will be bag day: all you can stuff into a large brown grocery bag for $2. Items include clothing for men, women and children; jewelry; household items; smaller pieces of furniture; knick-knacks; collectibles; toys; books; holiday items. Proceeds benefit church programs and community outreach projects.

EXETER TWP. — The Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 1422 Mt. Zion Road, Harding, will host a chicken barbecue from 4:30 to 7 p.m. May 19. Take-out will start at 4 p.m. Dinner costs $10 for adults and $6.50 for children. Menu includes 1/2 chicken, baked potato, corn on the cob, pepper slaw, dinner roll, dessert and beverage. FRANKLIN TWP. — Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, 536 Village Road, Franklin Township, will hold a Celebration of Hope at 4 p.m. June 2. Everyone is welcome for an afternoon of gospel songs featuring the Miller Family of Pottsville and the Harris Family of Cogan Station. Skits will be performed by the church youth, and the Rev. HARVEYS LAKE — Making A Difference Ministries will host a Concert Under the Stars from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 4 with national singer-songwriter Mike Lewis from Nashville, Tenn., and local country act Broken Road Duo during Lake Fest, at Pole 187, The Harveys Lake Beach Club.

HUNLOCK CREEK — The Oakdale United Methodist Church, 485 Oakdale Drive, Hunlock Creek, will hold a Memorial Day Service and Roast Beef Dinner May 28. MOUNTAIN TOP — St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 316 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, will hold a Celebration of Women at 4 p.m. May 20. The program will celebrate the joys and sorrows, strength and power of sisterhood. Light refreshments will follow. Sign up in the narthex. The church will host a trip to Sight & Sound Theatres on June 16 to see the musical “Jesus.” The trip costs $130 for adults, $73 for children and $50 for children 12 and younger. MOUNTAIN TOP — Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 7768 Blue Ridge Trail, Mountain Top, will hold its annual 300 Club Fundraiser beginning at noon June 16. An admission fee of $35 gives a patron and a friend will be given a pass for free food and entertainment for the day plus a ticket which enters the patron in hourly drawings for monetary prizes with the grand prize drawn at 6 p.m. Patrons do not need to be present to win. If patrons wish not to be entered in drawings, they can still participate and enjoy food and entertainment by donating $15 per person at the door. NANTICOKE — St. Faustina Parish, 520 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, will hold a Monday Night Worship and Healing Service at 7 p.m. June 4. The event will feature Eucharistic adoration, praise and worship. A healing service will be part of the evening with Franciscan Friar of the Renewal, the Rev. Michael Kmiotek, CFR. PITTSTON — The United Methodist Church of Pittston is sponsoring a bus trip on May 19 to the American Music Theater in Lancaster to see “Songs of the Silver Screen,” which pays tribute to the biggest hits from movies of the past and present. After the show, participants will have dinner at the Shady Maple Smorgasbord with time to visit the gift shop. $100 per person includes the show, dinner, bus seat, taxes and tips. PLAINS TWP. — The Wyoming Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church, 14 Martin St., Hudson section of Plains Township, will offer a free presentation titled “Understanding Addiction” from 3 to 5 p.m. May 19. Presenters Dale McElwee, CADC, and Brad Forsythe, BA, are professional drug and alcohol therapists in the area and will explain the risk factors that lead to drug and alcohol dependence. WILKES-BARRE — The Jewish Community Alliance, 60 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre. The JCA Book Club will discuss “The Day the World Came to Town: 9/11 in Dander, Newfoundland” at 12:45 p.m. May 24. A registered dietitian from CEO will make a presentation titled “My Plate” to inform on the topic of good nutrition at noon May 24. The food sample will be three bean salad, and the take home gifts will be a strainer, recipe and nutrition handout. WYOMING — The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Wyoming Valley, 20 Church Road, Wyoming, is hosting a monthly discussion group which explores the history behind the concept of race in America. WHITE HAVEN — The Beaumont Free Methodist Church and Making a Difference Ministries will hold a three-part mini Christian music Concert Series at the church, 380 Buck Blvd., White Haven. June 23: Yvonee Hartman, American folk and contemporary worship from Allentown. Aug. 3: Mike Lewis, nationally known songwriter from Nashville, Tenn. All concerts take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and admission is free.
