West Side Career and Technology students raise money for cancer center


West Side Career and Technology students from Mary Kay Kimelewski’s History Club recently raised $540 to be donated to the Frank M. and Dorothea Henry Cancer Center in Wilkes-Barre. The money was raised in memory of Cathy Kimelewski, also known as “Momma C,” the mom of teacher Mary Kay Kimelewski and a loved cafeteria aide at the school, who passed away in February from AML leukemia. Participating students and teachers included: Tim Scott, Taylor Guziejka, Will Edwards, Mykenna Dekin, Tyler Vitale, Cheryl Connolly (Henry Cancer Center), Mary Kay Kimelewski (teacher/ History Club advisor), Toni Traver, Ricki George, Mike Sims, Luke Hoats (History Club secretary), Noah Miller, Matt Gilpin, Raven Moore (History Club president), Abby Dileo and Nick Wido.
