Congressman Lou Barletta (PA-11) recently hosted a congratulatory picnic for the students he nominated to the U.S. service academies, and who were offered and accepted appointments. In total, Barletta nominated 15 students to the U.S. Naval Academy, 11 students to the U.S. Military Academy, seven students to the U.S. Air Force Academy, and two students to the U.S. Merchant Marines. Out of those nominations, the following students were both offered an appointment and have accepted it: Joshua Kaplowitz, U.S. Naval Academy; John Bucher, U.S. Merchant Marines; Matthew Kunkle, Lauren Anderson and Christian Roberts, U.S. Naval Academy; Bradley Owens, U.S. Air Force Academy and Jacob Kobusky, U.S. Military Academy.
