All-you-can-eat pig roast, noon to 4 p.m. July 8, Queen of the Apostles Parish Hall, 742 Spring St., Avoca. Take-out dinners will be available all day and additional seating is available under an outdoor tent. Menu includes roasted pig on the spit, wimpies, hot dogs, corn on the cob, salads, desserts, soda, and water. There will also be a cash prize grand raffle, basket raffle, children’s games and a bake sale. Hobbie Volunteer Fire Company Carnival – A Real Country “AfFAIR,” Aug. 3, 4 and 5 at the carnival grounds, 613 W. County Road, Wapwallopen.
