27th annual Chicken BBQ, will take place from 4:30 to 7 p.m. July 21 at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 1422 Mt. Zion Road, Exeter Township. Take-out begins at 4 p.m. $10 for adults; $6.50 for children.

Hobbie Volunteer Fire Company Carnival – A Real Country “AfFAIR,” Aug. 3, 4 and 5 at the carnival grounds, 613 W. County Road, Wapwallopen. Homemade foods include pigs-in-the-blanket, ham and bean soup, chicken corn soup, fresh-cut fries and funnel cakes. Manning’s ice cream will be served with shakes, root beer floats and cider floats; pork and chicken barbecues, apple dumplings, pierogies and deep-fried Oreos.
