TOPS PA #1057 (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly), will hold its weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 6:15 p.m. at the Mill Memorial Library, 495 E. Main St. Nanticoke. Murgas Amateur Radio Club, meets at 8 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month at the Luzerne County Emergency Management Building, 185 Water St., Wilkes-Barre. Slovak Catholic Sokols, Group 7 “Rev. Joseph Murgas,” will be hosting a family bowling outing at Chacko’s Family Bowling Center, 195 N. Wilkes-Barre Blvd., Wilkes-Barre, from noon to 2 p.m. July 21. Nanticoke Historical Society, will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. July 26 at the society offices in the historic Samantha Mill House, 495 E. Dallas Chapter Eastern Star Building Association, will host a flea market and craft and vendor sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 27 at the Easter Star hall, 15 Foster St., Dallas. General Federation of Women’s Clubs Mountain Top, will hold its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Christ United Methodist Church, 175 S. Main Road, Mountain Top. Newport Township Lions Club, will host its 40th annual Golf Tournament Aug. 17 at the Rolling Pines Golf Course. Format is captain and mate with a better ball point system. There will be an 8 a.m. shotgun start, and the fee is $130 per team. Fee includes green fees, cart, refreshments and a skins game. It will also feature $1,500 in cash prizes, if 80 or more golfers participate. A 2018 Ford Focus, donated by Pat and Dan DelBalso Ford, will be awarded to the first player scoring a hole-in-one. Wilkes-Barre Area Queens Council, is planning a Red Hat High Tea from noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Apple Tree Terrace at Newberry Estate in Dallas. Dupont VFW Post 4909, will hold a Sock Hop Dinner Dance on Sept. 8. Millennium will provide live musical entertainment from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. A dinner buffet will be served from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m., and the bar will be open from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The donation is $30 per person. Rotary Club of Mountain Top, will hold its annual Steam Train Excursion from Mountain Top to historic Jim Thorpe on Sept. 22, rain or shine.
