Recently the Kindergarten and Preschool Classes at Saint Jude School in Mountain Top learned about Saint Francis and his abiding love of animals. Deacon Gene Kovatch spoke with the children about Saint Francis and taught the children about the act of blessing special objects. He, along with the teachers, helped the children to make the sign on the cross on their stuffed animals using holy water to bless the toys brought from home. Shown with their newly blessed animals are, first row: Lorelai Verni, Lila Millard, Karly Welgosh, Myra Patel, Emma Ackourey, Landon Skutnik and Gracie Holtz. Second row: Avery Hudak, Andrew Petros, Blake Silva, Reba Fetterman, Grace Truax, Zachary Stahlnecker, Joseph Gomba. Third row: Kerry Blaum, Henry Arcangeli, Brady Sorber, Amelia Morgan and Melissa Patrick.
