Does your favorite small business have 20 employees or less?

Do you have $20 to spare?

If you answered “yes” to the above, then the latest Boost Business NEPA initiative is one to get involved in.

As you may know from reading this space, Boost Business NEPA is a collaboration I’m involved in, which aims to support local businesses hard hit by the pandemic.

These businesses are restaurants, boutiques and everything in between. They’re the stores your friends work at and the restaurants you frequent.

You can visit boostbusinessnepa.com/spread-the-love and sponsor the campaign or donate to a small business. When you donate $20, the organization matches it and pledges to promote it.

It’s easy, it’s simple and it’s going to make an impact. Even if it helps a small business pay just one bill, it helps.

I’m particularly interested in the state of small businesses today.

It’s tough with employee shortages and rising costs of almost everything. As the small business community rebounds, the Spread the Love campaign is designed to push them forward.

When you visit the website, you can select the small business you’d like to support and flowers will be delivered – a nice gesture during a hard time.

By making even a small donation, it shows the business they’re loved and that the community is thinking about them.

I couldn’t be more proud to be part of a group that is consistently giving back.

Boost Business is consistently looking for ways to educate and aid the most hard-hit businesses.

Case in point: In February of this year, 158 restaurants were helped by $10 donations and matches from local customers and other businesses.

The pictures were overwhelming, with some restaurant owners weeping as they received hand-delivered Valentines and eventual checks.

These days, supporting small business is paramount to their existence.

As we move further and further away from COVID19-times, we can’t help but remember the days and weeks that the small businesses were closed.

It was, of course, devastating, but it’s true when they say the comeback is usually greater than the setback.

The initiative lasts for the first two weeks of June, after which checks will be distributed.

As we continue enjoying this weekend, remember to spread the love. And if you can make a donation while doing so, that’s even better.
