Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Scranton recently partnered with Beth Shalom Academy and Elm Park United Methodist Church to collect children’s coats for the upcoming winter season.

Dozens of new and gently used coats werecollected and distributed to local agencies serving children and families in need.

Elan staff worked with volunteers from both congregations to collect the coats, and students from Beth Shalom Academy decorated the boxes used during the drive.

“For many families with children, the cost of a new coat or jacket is simply unaffordable, especially during the holiday season,” said Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehab Executive Director Mary Rose Applegate. “We were thrilled to partner with Beth Shalom and Elm

Park this year to collect coats for kids in our community, and to help fulfill some of this

need.”
