Trucksville United Methodist Church will host a program entitled “Hospice: Myths vs. Facts” presented by representatives of Compassus Care, at 10 a.m. Friday, April 26 and again at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, April 28 in the library of the church’s educational building, 40 Knob Hill Road, Trucksville PA 18708. Refreshments will be served.

Compassus asks these questions: Did you know that physical, occupational, dietary, and speech therapies can be provided to hospice patients and can help maintain a higher quality of life? Did you know that hospice is fully covered by Medicare? Did you know that hospice offers short-term inpatient respite care for family caregivers? Respite care gives caregivers the opportunity to rest and recover.

Come and find the answers to these questions and much more about what hospice care is and what it isn’t. On hand will be Erin Barlow, who supervises Care Transitions at The Meadows Nursing Home & Rehab Center in Dallas, along with Laurie Kulak, Hospice Care Consultant, and Rosemary Jackson, Social Worker, both from Compassus.

You are invited to come to either session to learn how Compassus serves as a partner in the Hospice journey.

Reservations are not necessary but are appreciated by calling church office at 570-696- 3897 or Erin Barlow at 570-574-9160, and letting us know which session you will be attending. Walk-ins at the last minute are also welcome.
