Wyoming Valley Children’s Association (WVCA) recently hosted its 101st Annual Meeting at the Wyoming Valley Country Club. This annual luncheon celebrates WVCA’s past, present and future. At the luncheon, Gail Kapson was presented with the 2025 Golden Apple Award.

For several years, the Golden Apple Award has been presented to individuals, community groups or corporations who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to WVCA. Golden Apple recipients selflessly give of their time and talent to benefit the children and families of Wyoming Valley Children’s Association. Gail Kapson has been a supporter of WVCA for over 15 years while she was the Director of Catering at the Woodlands Inn and Resort. She organized countless events for WVCA, including the organization’s Annual Gala, Cooking For A Cause, and Annual Meeting. The events that Gail helped coordinate raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for WVCA’s mission.

“WVCA could not have achieved our schools’ current level of success without Gail’s support,” WVCA executive director Nina DeiTos Zanon said. “The ripple effect of her tireless efforts is sure to be felt by hundreds of WVCA students and families. When I reflected on who should receive this year’s award, Gail’s name instantly came to mind. We are proud to publicly acknowledge Gail’s contributions to our mission with this award.”
