The Hanover Green Cemetery Company has announced plans to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Meeting House which is located on the cemetery grounds at 689 Main Road, Hanover Township.
The Chapel, as it is now known, was built in 1825 and has the original pews and hanging pulpit. The public is invited to the celebration that will begin at noon on Sunday, Sept. 28.
A brief history of the Meeting House will be presented by Sherry Emershaw along with a period-correct sermon by Mark Kahn. A time capsule will be prepared.
The public is invited to share any memories they may have of attending services or events at the Meeting House. Light refreshments will be served and self-guided cemetery tours are encouraged.
