Maybe you first heard “Dancing Queen,” “Waterloo” and “Mamma Mia” during the 1970s, when the Swedish pop group ABBA was touring the world. Or maybe you’ve heard the group’s music more recently, as part of a movie soundtrack.

Either way, you might want to “Take A Chance” on Mania, the ABBA tribute band, which will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Wilkes-Barre.

Mania the ABBA Tribute has played more than 3,000 live concerts in more than 35 countries, bringing the music of Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Björn Ulvaeus to fans old and new.

Highlights for Mania have included a second run in London’s West End where the show performed for a month in the iconic Shaftesbury Theatre, London in May 2021. The show also enjoyed an 80-date sell-out USA National tour in 2022/2023.

The group promises “stunning costumes, energetic choreography and impeccable musicianship,” that help “recreate the magic of ABBA’s music in all its glory” and welcomes the audiences to sing and dance along.

Ticket prices start at $25 plus fees and may be purchased at kirbycenter.org and ticketmaster.com, or in person at the F.M. Kirby Center Box Office during regular business hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. You may also purchase them by calling the box office at 570-826-1100.
