Saint Vincent de Paul Kitchen in Wilkes-Barre has kicked off its 2026 “Sponsor For A Day” campaign, which is the primary means of financial support for the Kitchen’s mission to provide a free daily meal to the community.
For a donation of $125 or more, an individual, family, business, community organization, or faith-based group can sponsor the day’s meal at Saint Vincent de Paul Kitchen and provide assistance to those in need. The sponsorship can be from oneself, a family, in memory of a loved one, or on behalf of a business.
The mission of Saint Vincent de Paul Kitchen is to respond to the unmet needs of poverty and hunger in the Wyoming Valley, and as more people continue to experience food insecurity, its mission has never been more important.
In 2025, Saint Vincent de Paul Kitchen served 122,079 meals to members of the community. In addition, Saint Vincent de Paul Food Pantry served 2,917 families, and its clothing room assisted 3,678 individuals.
Sponsors are recognized each day on the “Sponsor For A Day” drawboard in the Kitchen as well as on the Kitchen’s Facebook page. Past sponsors should have received letters asking for renewals as the annual campaign has now gotten underway.
